HANNE TORFS

Music is and always will be my first and deepest love.
It's the language of my imagination.

In 2013, I proudly graduated 'summa cum laude' from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, earning a Master's degree in Drama with a focus on theatre and music. Since then, I played in several bands throughout the years.
I founded my first professional band called 'Nunki' when I was graduating at the Conservatory, starting in 2012. It was my musical playground where I could bring my theatrical and musical fantasies to the stage. The music was atmospheric indie-pop influenced by post-rock and inspired by bands like Sigur Ros and Björk. We released an EP and played for many years in Belgium and the Netherlands.
You can listen to it on Spotify.
In 2013, the Belgian indie-rock band 'School Is Cool' asked me to audition for the role of keyboard player and backing vocalist. Up until today, we're still writing music and touring throughout Belgium. The band became a family, and we went on countless adventures together. I played a part in four out of the five studio albums and learned a lot from recording all of this wonderful music in several stunning studios.
When Nunki ended in 2017, I immediately started a new synthpop band called 'Fortress'.
Together with Joppe Vanwetswinkel (keys) and Nils Tijtgat (bass), we create an electronic, danceable sound.
From 2020 until mid 2021 concert venue Trix chose Fortress as an artist in residence. Since then, we have written numerous new songs, recorded a cinematographic concert film and developed our energetic live show. Trix called us "the hardest working band in town".
Fortress' first singles already drew the attention of both Studio Brussel and Radio 1, who called me “the Roísín Murphy of Belgium”. The band also received a lot of praise from all kinds of music blogs. Our debut EP Dreamscape was released on February 17 2023 and our second EP 'Chroma' was on December 2, 2024.

'Holy Hannah' is my brand new alter ego. As a captivating high priestess of the underworld, I like to bewitch my audience with my otherworldy sound design and mesmerizing chants.
In October 2022, I finished my first six tracks, which I wrote in solitary in the middle of a lush forest. In the coming months I am going to release a few singles as a teaser for this first record. With a strange kind of melancholic passion, I invite my listeners to submerge themselves in my carefully crafted sounds.
Holy Hannah live is a fascinating live performance. Expect compelling live synths and eerie vocals to blend with pounding techno beats. In the Church of Holy Hannah, my adventurous and melodic techno, influenced by alternative pop culture, will take you instantly on a frenzied trip. Hannah's hand tailored costume was made by innovative fashion designer Jana Roos.
Since 2024, I’ve had the honour of collaborating with Piet Goddaer on his project Ozark Henry. It’s been a real pleasure arranging his songs alongside a wonderful band featuring Sarah Pepels on vocals and keys, and Sep François on percussion and drums. I definitely love picking up my cello again and dive even deeper in the sound design using legendary synths like the Juno-106.
The new album (on which I recorded some backing vocals) was released in October 2025, and we’ll be presenting it on a beautiful tour starting in February 2026. You can find all show dates here.

Except for playing in all of these (and even more) bands, I love to compose music for theatre and am currently submerging myself more in the world of composing for film and television.
I've made my first steps for advertising and would love to do this more in the future.
On my wishlist: Composing music and scores for podcasts and film.
I feel like I gained more technic skills as a producer over the years and love to keep developing myself as a producer.
